Engaging with STEM: Insights from the IMechE Education Outreach Training

Engaging with STEM: Insights from the IMechE Education Outreach Training

Recently, I had the opportunity to attend the Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ (IMechE) Education Outreach Training on 16 October 2024 at Brunel University. It was an enriching experience where I interacted with a diverse group of people, from undergraduates to postgraduates, all from different STEM disciplines.

During the session, I had a meaningful conversation with two women who were discussing STEM opportunities in the UK and the challenges of engaging younger generations. They emphasized the need for programs like the STEM Ambassadors initiative to raise awareness about the importance of STEM fields and inspire more young people to get involved.

Overall, it was a productive day, and I learned a lot. Workshops like this not only broaden our understanding of the world around us but also provide pathways for personal and professional growth in our chosen fields.
