A Day in the Life: Juggling Interviews, Classes, and Unexpected Encounters
Hello everyone!
I need to remember this day, 22nd October, 2024—what a day it’s been! It was fully packed from start to finish.
The morning started early; I woke up at 7 a.m., completed my household chores, and got ready for an interview at 11 a.m. By 9:20, I had finished everything quickly and caught a train for part of the journey, then switched to a bus, followed by a short walk. On my way to the interview at Hammersmith Hospital, I met a lovely elderly lady from Punjab, India. We had a great chat. Her husband was actually in the hospital, and she kindly guided me to my interview venue. Thank you so much, grandma!
I arrived 30 minutes early, so I gave them a call and waited. I always like to be early for meetings because I respect other people’s time and don’t want to keep anyone waiting. The interviewer was a friendly lady, and we had a great conversation. She showed me around the workspace and mentioned that I’d hear back via email if I was selected. By 11:40, I was on my way back to university.
Between 11 and 12:30, I had an online meeting, which I managed to attend on my way back. After that, I reached campus by 12:30 and took a walk to the entrance. There, someone approached me asking for my vote—I realized our university was holding elections! I was really hungry at this point, having only eaten a banana all day, but I still went to the voting line and cast my vote. By 1:30, I was starving, so I grabbed three slices of bread and found a spot to sit and eat.
Afterward, I noticed there was a career workshop happening at the sports center, so I walked over to check it out. I chatted with a few people, learned about some opportunities, and left feeling more informed. By 2:30, it was time for my personal tutor meeting. I waited a bit since the professor was finishing another meeting, but we eventually had a productive discussion.
Then, it was back to the station and home. From 4 p.m. onwards, I had back-to-back meetings until 7 p.m. First, there was a group discussion from 4 to 5, though we didn’t have much time to talk about our project this week. After that, I attended my "Ready Programme" class from 5 to 7 p.m.
Oh my gosh, what a day! I feel so exhausted now and just want to sleep. How do you all feel after reading about my day? Any thoughts or comments?
